Over the last three decades, Fernanda acquired a broad set of managerial and technical skills, setting up new businesses, expanding wealth management franchises, advising clients on their corporate needs, and most recently, leading three business units in the Insurance segment.
Fernanda led the Life Insurance, Pension and Investment Units as Executive Director at Porto Seguro, a market leader in the Insurance Segment in Brazil. By applying an integrated concept of financial planning and client centric approach, it was possible to better serve clients with innovative solutions, expand and merge financial and insurance distribution channels, and most importantly bring innovation to the segment by heavily investing into new technologies, end-to-end.
From 2002 to 2012, Fernanda had a key role at UBS Brazil, UBS Pactual and BTG Pactual. Started in 2002, she was responsible for UBS setup of the domestic business, in Rio de Janeiro. Transferred to São Paulo, she assumed a management position in the Product team, followed by a role in the commercial front.
As an advisor of wealth management clients, she moved to Porto Alegre as Head of the Region, to expand the presence of the Bank in the South of Brazil. She was also responsible for foreign investors in the brazilian business at UBS.
In 2010, as a local market head for the Wealth Management Business, Fernanda led the reentry of the Bank in Brazil.
Prior to 2002, she spent two years at University of Virginia, US, at Darden School of Business, where she acquired her Master in Business Administration.
She started her career at Vale, one of the words largest mining company, in the Financial Division, where she run a Derivatives Desk and Hedge program for the Company Balance Sheet risk exposures.
